Dough Down the Drain

After Monday's mayhem, the Daily News has announced they are offering a special $1 million pot after mistakenly publishing the wrong winning numbers to a Scratch'N'Match promotion. On Monday, several dupes played hooky and went out on shopping sprees after thinking they'd won $100,000. After buying themselves gifts, cruises, and cars--the sourpusses ended up storming the Daily News' offices, "practically Frankenstein torch and pitchfork style," according to Gawker.com, which summed up the moral of the story for all of us who'd be just as tempted to hit Fifth Ave if in the same scenario: Don't spend money until you've got some in the bank. Even Spitzer is trying to immerse his nose in this media oops, unsurprisingly.
